Third world to First

Seriously, I dunno what got me into writing blogs. Its my impression that only gays write blogs, but well, maybe Maldives did have an effect on me, after all it was 2 months in a world where all the girls were properly wrapped up. But don’t get me wrong, Maldivian girls are not all that conservative and reserved. In fact, there was this teacher from Majeedhiyya School that approached me for my number! YES, stop laughing, to think that the first girl to ask me for my number would be a Maldivian. And quite a pretty one too I must admit. Haiz, just too bad my charm can only work on Maldivian girls.

I didn’t give her my number in the end, I still prefer Singapore girls though. Maldives taught me to appreciate Singapore. Imagine two months in a country where the only food you can find is curry, briyani and prata ( It is called Farata there). Where the biggest shopping center is comparable to Mustafa and there are no entertainment except for watching Grey Anatomy and Prison Break on my Laptop. Its physical and mental distress man. Salute to Chee Kwang my technical manager over in Maldives who has been surviving for the past 2 years. Also to another engineer Dedi who has been a great friend, who never fails to cheer up everyone’s spirits.

Curry, Curry and more Curry

We have a saying that tourists spend thousands of dollars to come to Maldives to enjoy the beach and sand. We pay ZERO. Except for the food and no life, we basically enjoy the same natural environment as any tourist would. And I tell you, its really an experience of a lifetime. Deep sea fishing, Speed boat rides, Island hopping, swimming in the clear blue waters and relaxing under the coconut trees watching the sunset. Oh and did I forgot to mention we saw dolphins on the way back to Male’ too. Really miss the Indian Ocean. Enough of words, enjoy the pictures.

Deep Sea Fishing!!!... Red Bass, Baracuda... experience of a lifetime!!! Won't do it again though... the sea sick was terrible. Oh yes, we finished all of them too... BBQ in maldivian fish sauce!!!
