The pot of GOLD at the end of the bridge

My friend just got conned recently. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and Mindy (fake name) was about to leave her house with her sister on a shopping trip. Just when they arrived at the overhead bridge near their home, they saw this middle-aged lady sitting on the edge of the steps halfway up the overhead bridge looking extremely pale. Mindy approached the lady and asked if she was feeling alright. The lady replied in a weak voice: “I’m diabetic and I need to get home in time for my medication.” Being a kind person Mindy and her sister helped the women to the busstop located next to the overhead bridge. At the bustop the lady realized she didn’t have enough money for transport back home. And to make things worse, her home is at the other end of Singapore in Woodlands!!! Again being a kind soul, both Mindy and her sister each forked out 10 bucks for the lady to take a cab home. They even waited together with her for the cab. And when one finally came, the lady sprang up and ran towards the cab and disappeared. Moral of the story, it doesn’t pay to be good. In fact it will COST you. Which is probably why good people like me are still broke till these days.
